About IGF-1 DES
Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), also referred to as Somatomedin C, is structurally similar to insulin and plays a crucial role in growth in childhood but causes anabolic effects in adults.
IGF-1, the growth factor that is at the center of human growth, is mainly secreted by the liver but also synthesized within various tissues located throughout the body.
Containing 70 amino acids, IGF-1 contains A and B chains united by disulphide links, as well as a region known as a C peptide composed of 12 amino acids.
Application
IGF-1 supports regular bone and tissue development and expansion in addition to demonstrating the potential to decrease levels of blood sugar.
It impacts fat cells, thereby enabling fat breakdown, thereby leading to lean body mass increase and a decrease in fat. These are sought after by bodybuilders and athletes. Weight gain also occurs due to elevated levels of IGF-1, which is induced primarily through gains in lean body mass rather than by fat accumulation.
IGF-1 is highly favored in the bodybuilding community and among individuals who engage in frequent workouts because it enhances recovery time after workouts and raises the level of energy during exercise.
IGF-1 injection is usually administered to both children and adults with growth hormone deficiency. The high concentration of amino acids in IGF-1 is good for children with delayed growth and adults with deficiencies.
Experiments have demonstrated that anabolic activity of IGF-1 may result from the inhibition of protein degradation and stimulation of protein synthesis within skeletal muscle and that it might prove useful for curing cutaneous burns and other tissue malformations.
Mechanism of Action
IGF-1, the human blood-borne naturally occurring hormone, plays a significant part in regulating the action of the growth hormone within the body. Its functions, like that of growth hormone, are tissue and bone growth. IGF-1 is synthesized in various tissues upon stimulation by plasma growth hormone.
IGF-1 stimulates general body growth and stimulates growth actions on nearly every cell type, including bone, cartilage, skeletal muscle, liver, kidney, nerve, skin, and lung cells. IGF-1, like insulin, also regulates cellular DNA synthesis.
Administration
Route: Subcutaneous injection into fatty area of tissue, most often abdomen or stomach. Intramuscular injection may be used.
Before using, ensure that the syringe is sterile and clean.
Place the syringe in the middle of the IGF-1 vial cap with it held vertically.
Pull back the plunger to the correct dosage (see 'Dosage' below) and take out the syringe slowly.
Sanitize the injection area with alcohol prior to injecting.
Pinch the skin around the injection site, with about 2 cm of clearance on either side.
Hold the syringe in a 90-degree angle position against the skin and inject quickly.
Fully depress the plunger to empty the syringe, and then slowly withdraw.
Dosage
Recommended Dosage: Lean muscle gain and fat loss
40 mcg - 50 mcg daily (men)
10 mcg - 20 mcg daily (women)
IGF-1 injections are not to be taken more than twice a day.
A cycle of IGF-1 dosing is typically 2 to 12 weeks.
Children and adults taking IGF-1 for growth deficiency should consult a healthcare professional for proper dosing guidance.
Side Effects
Side effects of IGF-1 may mimic those of other growth hormones and include excessive body growth (acromegaly) and potential harm to liver, joints, and heart. Pain in muscles or joints, headache, and nausea are potential side effects. IGF-1 also reduces blood glucose, which leads to hypoglycemia. Researchers have linked IGF-1 with potential increased risk for a number of cancers, i.e., lung, breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer.
