Manufacturer: AstraZeneca

Substance: Metoprolol

Pack: 1 x 20 tabs (100 mg/tab)

Beloc (metoprolol) is a prescription beta-blocker that slows down heart rate. It is used to treat hypertension, chest pain, heart failure, palpitations, arrhythmia, and to prevent migraine attacks. Its active ingredient, metoprolol, works by blocking the effects of certain natural chemicals in the body on the heart and blood vessels, thereby reducing heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart. It is available in injectable solution, slow-release, and controlled-release film tablet forms. The most common side effect is a feeling of fatigue. Beloc should be used under doctor supervision and discontinued gradually. Abrupt cessation of treatment can lead to severe side effects.

What is Beloc?

Beloc is a prescription medication from the group of beta-blockers that slows down heart rate (pulse). Its active ingredient, metoprolol, blocks the effects of certain natural chemicals in the body, such as epinephrine, on the heart and blood vessels. This reduces heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart. Beloc is available in injectable solution, slow-release, and controlled-release film tablet forms.

Beloc is used in the treatment of the following conditions:

Hypertension (also used in ages 6-18),

Chest pain (angina pectoris),

Heart failure,

Palpitations,

Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat),

Reducing the risk of second heart attack and death,

Migraine (preventive treatment).

How should Beloc be used correctly?

You can take the controlled-release form on an empty or full stomach. However, Durules should be taken on an empty stomach.

Swallow the tablets with a glass of water, do not crush or chew them. Tablets can also be divided for dose adjustment.

Since the tablets are controlled-release, their effect lasts throughout the day and should be taken once a day.

The ampoule form of Beloc is injected slowly intravenously. It should be administered by a doctor or nurse.

Use Beloc as recommended by your doctor, do not change the dose or discontinue the treatment without consulting them.

Beloc may sometimes slow down reflexes. Do not operate vehicles or machinery during treatment.

If you need general anesthesia, be sure to inform your doctor that you are using this medication.

Do not stop your treatment even if you need surgery.

If you forget to take a dose and there is less than 8 hours until the next dose, you can take your medication immediately. Otherwise, wait for the next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.

Beloc Dosage:

The recommended doses are typically:

For hypertension: 50-100 mg once daily.

For angina pectoris and arrhythmia: 100-200 mg once daily.

In stable heart failure (if to be used with other medications): The initial dose is 12.5-25 mg daily. The maximum daily dose is 200 mg.

After a heart attack: 200 mg once daily.

For palpitations: 100 mg once daily.

For prevention of migraine attacks: 100-200 mg once daily.

Warning:

Do not use Beloc without consulting your doctor. Improper use may be risky for your health.
